We train at our brand new facilities on Radlett Road, Watford. Our fixtures are usually played on either Saturday or Sunday.

Moving to the area?

Many of our ladies have moved to the area from Ireland or abroad and find our club ‘a home from home’. We pride ourselves on our commitment to one another and this has benefits on and off the field. If you have recently moved to the area then reach out to us and you will be guaranteed a warm welcome at Glen Rovers.

Bridin – ‘I moved to Watford in August 2020 and started with Glen Rovers 2 days later. I have previously played with CLG Ghaoth Dobhair in Donegal and Sharjah Gaels in the UEA.’

Never played before?

Our club strives to promote the ladies game and we strongly encourage you to come along and give it a go regardless of your previous sporting experience. To date, newcomers have fitted in perfectly as it has many transferable skills from other sports such as netball, basketball and football. Some of our ladies had never heard of Gaelic Football before joining our club or have any sporting experience! Don’t let anything put you off contacting us!

Catherine – ‘Everyone in the team was so welcoming. It took a while to develop the skills but I love training with a great bunch of girls. So much better than going to the gym!’

Ladies Gaelic Football is recognised as one of the fastest growing female sports in Europe.

The ladies also enjoy many socials through out the year.

Megan stated ‘The best social weekend to date has to be the trip to Dingle, Kerry…no words will do it justice’
